Can I achieve nitrate limitation with other root tabs?Updated a month ago

It depends on whether the root tab is able to effectively retain nitrogen in the substrate.

The majority of root tabs (Such as those by Seachem) provide mainly micro nutrients and trace minerals, but an insignificant amount of macro nutrients.

Other tabs that provide nitrogen often do so in nitrate form - however, nitrate doesn't bind to soil/aquasoil and eventually leeches into the water column. Thus these root tabs are effectively contributing to water column fertilization.

APT Jazz is engineered and tested to work under submerged conditions, and it will slowly release its contents across many months and not in a short window.
