Can I use APT JAZZ with a shallow substrate?Updated a month ago

If you have a shallow substrate ( less than 1 inch deep), try to place the capsules at the absolute bottom. At minimum, your substrate must be deep enough to hold the capsule securely within the substrate. There is a greater chance of root tabs leeching their contents when the substrate is shallow.

If it is too shallow to hold a capsule, it is too shallow for APT JAZZ, and probably not optimal for root formation except for the smallest plants.A tank with 2 year old substrate that has been continually rejuvenated with APT JAZZ.
