How soon should I start dosing?Updated 2 months ago

Immediately upon planting! :)

Freshly planted aquatic plants do not have established root systems, and have limited ability to draw on substrate nutrients until their root zones develop. However, they can draw in water column nutrients through their leaves. Dosing nutrients into the water column allows them to be established more quickly.

While some fresh aquasoils release a high amount of nitrogen in new aquariums, they may not release other nutrients such as potassium or magnesium. Water soluble nutrients are quickly lost when we change the tank’s water. Therefore, dosing should be done once there are plants in the tank.

Having good access to all essential nutrients allow plants to adapt faster in new tanks.
