What is the best liquid fertilizer for a matured tank?Updated 2 months ago
Aquatic plants are not perennial so simply adding a new, more powerful fertilizer will not help existing foliage / leaves. Old stems, roots and leaves deteriorate naturally and must be removed.
Better fertilization will help plants to generate lush NEW growth, but cannot rejuvenate old or deteriorating leaves / stems.
For mature tanks with low to moderate fish load, use APT 3.
For mature tanks with high fish load, use APT 1.
For mature tanks already on an EI regime, use APT e.
Nutrients in substrates naturally deplete over 3-6 months.
