Which fertilizer for a new tank without CO2 injection?Updated 2 months ago

For most new tanks, we recommend APT1 for the first 1 to 2 months. This includes new tanks without CO2 injection. 

You can continue with APT1 if you add a large fish population or have a low plant mass (lots of unplanted areas). Switch to APT3 if you have high plant density and fewer fish. 

Remember: 

• It takes 3-4 weeks for the impact of better nutrition to show. 
• It is normal for new plants to shed old leaves as the plant adapts to the new tank. 
• Watch for new leaves. If these are present and healthy, you are on the right path! :) Old leaves do not rejuvenate and should be removed over time as they deteriorate.
